Sanctuary in Residential Childcare

The Sanctuary Model has found the most expansive reception
in residential facilities for children. The Sanctuary Model is also
being adopted by residential school-based programs.

In 2005 when the Sanctuary Institute began, we made a series of videos asking various staff members at Andrus Children’s Center about their perspectives on the Sanctuary Model. These videos were the result:

- Mr. Hodge speaks aspects of milieu management in the Sanctuary Model
- Ms. Perrin speaks about use of the creative arts
- Mr. Burton speaks about aspects of milieu management in the Sanctuary Model
- Mr. Kleinman speaks about his experience with the Sanctuary Model as a clinician
- Mr. Kleinman discusses an example of parallel process
- Mr. Haracopas describes the use of S.E.L.F.
